We love the location of The Chalet - it's why we choose to live here, and have done so for over 30 years. The Chalet is in it's own independent part of our large, mature garden and has complete privacy. It is surrounded by fields with wonderful views of North Devon countryside. We don't like to advertise The Chalet as having sea-views, but you do have glimpses of the sea from the top of The Chalet garden, as well as wonderful vistas up and down Croyde valley.

Access is uphill from the village, up a paved (but narrow and unlit) farmtrack. It is only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village and 20 minutes walk from Croyde beach. We are lucky to have a network of stunning footpaths, quite literally on our doorstep.

Set in a beautiful valley behind the beach and dunes, Croyde village is a fun and interesting place to explore. It has a unique old-world charm with picture-postcard cottages, alongside a selection of contemporary, independent eating & drinking options, including The Thatch pub and restaurant, The Blue Groove, Billy Budds pub, The Old Cream Shop, The Manor House Inn, The Stores and Sandleigh National Trust tearooms at Baggy Point, not forgetting a variety of pop-up food vendors. There are regular farmers' markets and local craft markets throughout the summer.
Croyde is a renowned surfing destination and a wonderful venue for beginners and experts alike. As such, it has numerous surf-rental and lesson opportunities.

Saunton Sands, Putsborough and Woolacombe beaches are all an easy drive away (or walking distance if you're feeling  energetic!). We also recommend checking out Crow Point and Lee Bay (about 15 and 20 minutes drive) for something a little different, as well as Braunton Burrows, a UNESCO world heritage site (10 mins)

Exmoor National Park is one of our favourite places and only 40 minutes away.

We are 10 minutes drive from Braunton and 25 minutes from Barnstaple.
